Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an essential technique that comes in handy during emergencies.

Franks stated that she does not know what caused the woman to fall into the water. Generally, when going over rapids, it is easy to be bounced out of a boat.

The woman was underwater for around a minute before being pulled back onto the raft. Soon after, she showed signs of medical distress so the operator brought the raft to shore and got in touch with the Canmore Mounties and paramedics.

Other individuals of the raft performed CPR before the arrival of the EMS. The woman was transported to a Calgary hospital where she was declared dead. According to Franks, there is nothing suspicious about the incident but RCMP continue to investigate.
