Why These Workshops Are Free
On the evening of January 15th, a young man died after falling from a chairlift at Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver. Canadians who were present stepped forward in extraordinary ways to help, and that response made a lasting impression.
This initiative is meant to honour the volunteers and healthcare professionals who stepped forward that night, and to empower more Canadians to feel confident helping in an emergency. After speaking with the young man’s family, they expressed appreciation for the initiative and for any positive awareness that encourages more people to learn CPR and be willing to help during emergencies.
The free CPR workshops will run in Edmonton through the end of February.
