A man who was involved in Pierrefonds shooting received CPR. Ramsay St. in Pierrefonds is in a quiet residential neighborhood with single-family homes and a few three-story apartment buildings.

Turmoil in a quiet neighborhood

The street was cordoned off on Thursday with police tape near Fredmir St., as investigators scoured the area, combing through garbage and recycling bins in search of bullet casings and other clues.

A 20-year old man who lives in the area was shot during an altercation with another person. The incident occurred between two of the street’s apartment buildings as stated by Montreal police Constable Jean-Pierre Brabant. The police had still not located the shooter.

The man was shot in the upper body at least once. The victim had a group of friends with him and they called 911 as soon as he was shot. The friends took him into their car, a beige Toyota Camry and were on the way to the hospital when they crossed paths with a police squad car on Fredmir near the corner of Pierrefonds Blvd and flagged it down.

Firefighters and an ambulance were called in and performed CPR on the scene. The man was transported to a hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead.
