An Edmonton DJ encourages venues and artists to carry naloxone kits. This is an attempt to curb the number of opioid-related deaths.
Quick action on overdose cases
Dragan Jargic who performs as DJ Dragon stated that he recently picked up one of the injectable packs which was used to combat fentanyl. He has been part of Edmonton’s electronic music scene for 30 years. Whether performing at a rave or wedding, DJs might save a life if they have the kit.
Jargic obtained his kit at a Wal-Mart pharmacy and stated that it was an easy process. The pharmacies can provide the prescription on site. The pharmacist will instruct you on how to draw the medicine into the syringe. The kit provides you with a mouth-to-mouth piece that protects you and the other person if CPR is needed.
