Police under recovery
Based on the police report, Forget was shot during an investigation involving a string of crimes that included a robbery at a convenience store, carjacking and a suspected break and enter.
The officers found a man between 2 hours and he started to fire at the police. The body of the suspect who was not identified was later found in the ruins of burned garbage. The Alberta’s police watchdog is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
It was the first time that a police office was shot on the streets of Calgary in more than 20 years. The police have not released Forget’s name but his identity was widely reported in the media.
