Young girl died in watery dugout despite CPR

A young girl was given CPR after discovered in a watery dugout in Lethbridge. Desperate efforts to resuscitate a young girl found unconscious in a water-filled dugout in Lethbridge came to a tragic end.

Watery ordeal

It was around 5:15 PM when the police and EMS in the city 2 hours south of Calgary were called to a house where a 6-year old girl was found in a dugout.

The child was rushed to Chinook Regional Hospital but despite the efforts by the family and first responders, the girl was declared dead.

An autopsy has been scheduled in Calgary but police do not believe that the death has a suspicious nature.
