Young boys drown in separate Quebec incidents

An 8-year old boy drowned at a pool party in Sherbrooke. It has been the third death in Quebec since Friday.

Unforeseen accident

According to Samuel Ducharme, spokesperson for the Sherbrooke police, it was an unfortunate accident. There was proper supervision and other children in the pool when the incident occurred, thus dismissing criminal negligence.

In earlier events, 2 other young boys also drowned over the weekend. An 11-year old boy was discovered unconscious in a pool while attending a party and a 3-year old was found along a river in Upton.

The drowning incidents are likely to occur in July followed by June and August. Once the weather warms up, there is an increase in the number of cases.
