Shooting incident resulted in a suspicious death

The homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death that occurred on Christmas morning.

The officers received reports about shots being fired in the area of 117 Street and 107 Avenue around 7:20 AM. A 28-year old man was found outside an apartment building. The man was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Several people were seen leaving the area in vehicles. The police want to speak to anyone who was present at the time of the incident. Neighbor Michelle Jaudrey informed CTV News Edmonton that she heard sounds like firecrackers on Christmas morning from her bedroom. Police cars had pulled up from different angles and an ambulance showed up. It was that time when she saw someone lying on the ground and one of the EMTs started CPR.
