Man revived with CPR after assault

A man was successfully revived with CPR by paramedics and police after assault. When Victoria police arrived at the scene of an assault, they came upon a man who is unconscious, not breathing and lacks all vital signs.

It was around 3 AM when reports came in about a loud ruckus in a room at City Metro Suites at 2828 Rock Bay Ave. Inside, the unconscious man lay still and several other people were inside the room.

The police delivered CPR until the arrival of the paramedics who restarted the man’s breathing. The 41-year old Victoria resident was rushed to Victoria General Hospital and remains in a serious condition with head injuries.

The officers identified a 35-year old man from the West Shore as a suspected assailant. He was arrested inside the suite without incident. The investigators are uncertain whether the injured man and suspect knew each other.
