Man involved in deadly tasering incident given CPR

A man who was involved in a deadly tasering incident was given CPR. The British Columbia’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a Fraser Valley man who was accused of stabbing a dog.

According to RCMP Insp. Ed Boettcher, the Chilliwack Mounties were called to a house and engaged the suspect inside the residence. The suspect allegedly struggled with police before the officers utilized a conducted energy weapon and arrested him.

Boettcher stated that the man appeared unresponsive. The police performed CPR and called paramedics who transported the suspect to a healthcare facility where he was later declared dead.

An officer was also injured, treated in a healthcare facility and released. As for the dog, it was taken to a veterinarian.

The police called the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. which was also on the scene.
