A man who was pulled from Fraser River was given CPR. The Ridge Meadows RCMP is investigating a case of sudden death.

Watery ordeal

A Coast Guard hovercraft searched the site where a man was pulled from the Fraser River along the Haney Bypass at 225 Street in Maple Ridge. The man was found not far from the shore by the police and fire crews. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to a healthcare facility.

According to Ridge Meadows RCMP, the man was alive when police took him out of the water. They performed first aid and CPR on him.

The RCMP’s serious crimes unit is involved with the investigation but there are no signs that indicate foul play. The police received information that the man was on a jet ski or watercraft but no vessel has been recovered yet.
