Man dies in surfing accident on Long Beach near Tofino

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate a 27-year old man. A man died in a surfing accident at Long Beach. The paramedics responded to the incident close to Lovekin Rock.

Watery ordeal

According to Cpl. Patrick Jenkins who was speaking on behalf of the Tofino RCMP, he confirmed to the Westerly News that the 27-year old man died after a surfing incident. The specific details concerning the root cause of death were not yet divulged. The name of the man was not also released.

Based on an email to the Westerly News, a resident in the area, John de Vries was about to go for a walk along the beach with his son when he noticed a large group of people gathered near Lovekin Rock.
