A close look on the unforeseen ordeal

Kaleab Schmidt was discovered unresponsive on his family farm. The emergency services were called and CPR was performed. Sadly, the boy was declared dead at the scene.

The inquest into Schmidt’s death has been scheduled at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Regina. Additional dates were blocked off from March 9 to 13 if needed.

According to The Ministry of Justice, the main purpose of an inquest is to establish who died, when and where the person died as well as the medical cause and manner of death. The coroner’s jury might provide recommendations to prevent similar deaths.
