A 42-year old kayaker was given CPR after he was declared dead at Upper Kananaskis Lake. The resuscitation efforts by witnesses failed to save the man. The RCMP stated that they were dispatched to the area for a report of an unconscious man who had been pulled to shore at Upper Kananaskis Lake.

Watery ordeal

The man was kayaking when he was observed by a witness to be in distress. The police stated that members of the public pulled the man to shore and performed CPR on him. Sadly, the man was declared dead at the scene.

The Conservation officers and Public Safety Staff also responded to the call as did STARS air ambulance but the helicopter did not transport anyone from the scene. The police continue to investigate the incident and more details are expected to be released once an autopsy is done.
