Man involved in water scooter accident received CPR

A 33-year old man was declared dead despite the delivery of CPR. The man was found face-down in the Bay of Quinte as a water scooter he was proposed to have been driving was circling unmanned nearby.

Ordeal in the water

The OPP were called to the public boat launch on Bayview Drive, along the eastern edge of the Bay of Quinte. Someone had called 911 to report that a man who might be intoxicated was attempting to unload a jet ski at the boat launch.

When the officers were headed to the scene, the OPP was informed that a man and woman wearing life jackets were seen riding the jet ski in the Bay of Quinte. After around 20 minutes, the OPP was informed that someone was performing CPR on a man at a residence on County Road 9 which is also close to the Bay of Quinte, not far from the boat launch.
