The incident happened near the corner of Queen Street East and Hammersmith Avenue around 11 in the evening were a festival was going on.
Canned recalled before the incident that was walking with his foster puppy when suddenly a young man started asking about the dog. Canned told the young man that the puppy was only 8 weeks old. The suspect becomes restless; he claims that the festival was too loud for the puppy.
Cann just told the suspect, ‘Leave me alone,’ and turned around. Then the suspect just started stabbing me in my stomach. The whole time that he was stabbed, Cann felt that he was being punched.
When Cann falls back for a few seconds to grab his puppy, he felt his chest is soaking wet and later realized that he had been stabbed. He was standing about 10 feet away from the suspect. He had a big smile on his face and describing the face of the suspect.
Cann managed to run away from his attacker. He called on firefighters who immediately provided first aid on him. He was immediately brought to the hospital by paramedics for further treatment.
According to the police they described the suspect as a male in his early 20’s and about five-feet and eight-inches tall. The man was wearing a black shirt tucked into blue jeans and wearing black shoes at the time of the incident.
