Snowboarder who was found on Whistler mountain given CPR

A 29-year old snowboarder who was found on Whistler mountain received CPR. The man who went missing while snowboarding on Whistler was found dead.

Danger on the slopes

According to RCMP Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair, the snowboarder whose name was not yet released was out with a group of friends who decided to split up around 2 PM. The man failed to show up at the bottom of the lift. His friends waited for him for a while, looked for him in the village and eventually reported him missing to the ski patrol.

A ground and air search was launched and the crews found the snowboarder in a forested in-bounds area of the Harmony Bowl. He showed no signs of life.

The rescuers started CPR and the doctor attended the scene. Despite the efforts of all involved, the male succumbed to his injuries. He was wearing a helmet. The name of the man was not released but the RCMP confirmed that he was visiting B.C. from Ontario.
