Head-on collision on Vancouver highway sends victims to hospital

A head-on collision on Vancouver highway resulted to injuries that required first aid. According to police, a Ford Focus and Mercedes SUV collided over the center line of the four-lane highway.

Two people are taken to a healthcare facility with life-threatening injuries after an early morning head-on collision in Vancouver’s east and left seven people injured.

The incident occurred on Grandview Highway near Penticton Street. The incident left a segment of the highway closed for most of Friday as the police investigated the scene.

According to the police, the 20-year old male driver of the car and a 19-year old female passenger both from Burnaby were transported to a healthcare facility with life-threatening injuries. The third occupant of the vehicle sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The four passengers of the Mercedes with ages ranging from 48-70 sustained relatively minor injuries but were also taken to a healthcare facility for further care.
