A defibrillator or AED saved the life of a Windsor man. He emphasizes that everybody should learn how to use the device.
Andrew Brown suffered a massive heart attack after playing hockey at Belle River Arena. Luckily, the 51-year old man was saved by his teammates.
Life-saving defibrillators
His teammates immediately performed CPR and utilized the defibrillator of the arena. Brown is hoping that others will also do the same in similar scenarios.
Public areas should have an easily-accessible defibrillator, especially in sports arenas. It is also recommended that everybody knows how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Prompt delivery of CPR followed by an AED significantly increases the chances of survival. Remember you never know when someone might need help.
