A U.K man was given CPR after an accidental fall. The man sustained injuries from an accidental fall at an East Vancouver mall.
Ordeal at the mall
The emergency crews were called to Kingsgate Mall on East Broadway near Kingsway and found a person in medical distress. The man was given CPR on the scene but later declared dead in a healthcare facility.
The officers have not publicly identified the man, but stated that he was 24-years old and visiting the city from the U.K. He has only been in Vancouver for less than 24 hours.
Const. Jason Doucette stated that the officers are working with the consulate to reach the man’s parents and decide on arrangements.
Initially, the police department stated that it was investigating the incident as suspicious but later stated that the death was an unfortunate accident. The investigators who worked with the BC Coroner’s Officer stated that his death was due to a fall and not criminal in nature.
