Mountain biker given CPR after crash

A mountain biker involved in a crash was given CPR. Village of Cumberland Fire Chief Mike Williamson stated that his department responded to a call on a mountain biker who crashed near the Blockhead trail.

The biker was unresponsive. There were several bikers who came across him and started CPR. According to Williamson, the biker who was around 55-60 years old was riding alone. There were many riders on the trail and those that found him had talked with him 5 minutes before as they were riding the same trail. Williamson credited the group of riders for delivering CPR for an extended span of time.

The Comox Valley RCMP, BC Ambulance and the BC Coroner’s Service attended the scene. The incident is not considered as a suspicious one.
