A man who received CPR after rescued after falling in the Bow River died.
The man in his 50s was fishing in the river when another angler spotted him falling into the water.
Watery ordeal
Carol Henke with the fire department stated that the crews responded to the river near the Graves Bridge at around 1 PM for reports of up to two people in the water. One witnessed the other one slip into the water and he did not get back out and then was swept away. He went after him, pulled him out of the water once he caught up with him, pulled him onto the shore and started CPR.
The first responders arrived on the scene and took over CPR. The paramedics transported the patient to the Foothills hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.
A spokesperson with the Emergency Medical Services, Stuart Brideaux stated that it remains unclear if the man had a medical event while angling or suffered a medical event after falling in the water.
