Deer Lake woman dead despite CPR after pulled from Humber River

A 69-year old Deer Lake woman died despite CPR after pulled from Humber River. According to the RCMP, Geraldine Wiseman was down by a popular boat launch in the town to cool off from the heat.

Dangers in the water

Upon the arrival of the police, people were performing CPR on Wiseman. The woman was transported to Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook where she was declared dead.

According to the police, the death of the woman is not suspicious in any way and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the root cause. The RCMP do not believe that the woman was swimming or she took her own life.
