After the South Surrey double shooting

A homicide team was on the scene after 2 were shot in the 14300-block of Crescent Road. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on the scene of a double shooting in South Surrey.

Shooting ordeal leaves 2 injured

According to a Surrey RCMP news release, one person passed away due to his injuries. Based on the investigative theory at its initial phase, the incident does not appear random.

The Surrey RCMP received reports of shots being fired in the 14300-block of Crescent Road, on 36A Avenue, situated south of the one-way bridge over the Nicomeki River. Upon arrival, the officers found 2 people who sustained gunshot wounds.

Based on the news release, the officers found one man nearby with gunshot wounds and despite first aid and emergency measures, he succumbed to his injuries.

The RCMP also got a call from a woman suffering from gunshot wounds who drove herself to a short distance away from the scene. The woman is in a serious condition at a healthcare facility. According to a witness at the scene, the woman drove onto Highway 99 and called 911.

The Langley RCMP found a burning jeep in the 8500-block of 204 Street around 45 minutes later. It is still uncertain if the vehicle, which was unoccupied and had no license plates has a connection to the incident.
