According to the investigators a group of construction workers and TTC employees helped them look for the suspect. Witnesses who saw the incident told the policemen that the victim was dragged by the truck after being hit. Some Toronto Transit Commission workers working in the area dropped what they are doing and helped. They saw somebody needed help and immediately provided first aid on the victim who is suffering from serious injuries. Other workers hopped into their cars and run after the truck that left the area. They followed the damp truck until it reached the area near Park Lawn Road and the Queensway. The suspect was cornered in the road. Immediately the suspect jumped out of the damp truck and run away by foot.

While the TTC workers were running after the suspect, they passed by a group of construction workers in a parking lot and told them what happened. The construction workers joined in the chase. The group finally caught the suspect in a ravine and called the police. The officers arrived and arrested the suspect who was in the water at the bottom of the gully.

The paramedics arrived and continued providing first aid on the victim and immediately brought to the hospital for further treatment.

According to Sgt. Crews, it just shows that people of Toronto when called upon, they do not hesitate and they accept challenges or responsibilities for something. According to the police, they plan to nominate the group of the TTC workers and the construction workers for a community awards for their efforts of providing help to the victim and helping the police run after the suspect.
