3-year old boy drowns in Brossard pool

A 3-year old boy died in a family pool in Brossard. The child was found unconscious in a pool in Tardif St. on Friday afternoon. The child was rushed to a healthcare facility where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Watery ordeal

The father of the child delivered CPR while waiting for the police to arrive. Upon the arrival of the paramedics, a defibrillator was utilized but it did not restore a pulse or breathing while on the way to the healthcare facility.

Based on the initial details by Bruce Dyotte, spokeperson for the Cooperative des techniciens ambulanciers de la Monteregie (CETAM), the child might have spent between 2-3 minutes underwater.

The investigators sent to the scene are figuring out the circumstances involving the incident. According to the police, the child was alone when the incident occurred.
