Thomas Nibgoarsi was walking around the community of around 2,300 people when he saw a young girl waving her arms and begging for help. At first, he did not think it was a big deal and started to walk away until another young girl informed him that her friend was drowning.

He quickly rushed to the ice and saw her hat and what appeared to be clothing and grabbed her. He quickly performed CPR on the young girl. The young girl is now in Winnipeg for medical treatment.
