Unresponsive jail inmate given CPR

CPR was given to a jail inmate who was found unresponsive in his cell. The inmate was hospitalized after the ordeal in his cell at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility, but he passed away.

Unexpected ordeal

The 29-year old was found around 9:30 PM. The staff quickly initiated CPR and called the paramedics. The man was transported to the Dartmouth General Hospital where he was later declared dead.

The family members of the man were at the hospital with him. The Halifax Regional Police and the Justice Department are investigating the incident while the medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to figure out the cause of death.
