The victim of the Langley shooting received CPR after the incident. The incident occurred in a townhouse complex where vehicle fire might be linked.
Shooting incident
The Surrey man was severely wounded in a night shooting in Langley township in a newly-established townhouse complex in the Willoughby neighborhood. The police identified 23-year old Tarek Ali Al-Romeshi as the person found wounded in a vehicle.
Al-Romeshi was not a resident of the complex and not known to police according to Cpl. Frank Jang, spokesperson for the regional Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). The shooting appeared to be targeted as well.
At around 9PM, Langley RCMP received calls of shots fired in the 8200 block of 204B St in a newly developed area of Willoughby. Upon arrival, they found an injured man with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
Reports from the scene indicated that the man was shot twice in the chest. The firefighters and paramedics performed CPR on the victim as he was loaded into the ambulance.
