A snowboarder who was killed near Pemberton was given CPR. A 29-year old snowboarder from Burnaby died after falling into a tree well near Pemberton.
Danger on the slopes
The man had snowmobiled into the back country area of Miller’s Ridge Forest Service Road with friends when he went missing. He was eventually found upside down in the well, but by the time he was pulled out, the snowboarder was unresponsive and blue in color. His friends attempted to perform CPR but were unsuccessful in reviving him.
The Pemberton RCMP, firefighters and search and rescue crews were forced to leave his body overnight due to an increasing avalanche risk. They went into the area to recover the deceased on Monday instead.
