A 29-year old man who went missing while snowboarding was given CPR. The incident occurred on Whistler. Sadly, the man was declared dead.
Wilderness ordeal
RCMP Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair stated that the snowboarder, whose name was not released was out with a group of friends who decided to split up. The man failed to show up at the bottom of a lift. His friends waited for him a while, looked for him in the village and later reported him missing to ski patrol.
The ground and air search was launched in the morning and crews found the snowboarder in a forested in-bounds area of the Harmony Bowl. The man did not show any signs of life.
The rescuers started CPR and the doctor attended the scene. Despite the efforts of all involved, the male succumbed to his injuries. The man was wearing a helmet.
The name of the man was not released but the RCMP confirmed that he was visiting B.C. from Ontario.
