Skateboarding girl hit by vehicle given CPR

A 4-year old girl who died in Parksville after hit by vehicle was given CPR. The child was riding a skateboard in a campground area.

Skateboarding ordeal

According to Oceanside RCMP, the girl was riding while lying on her stomach at the Paradise Adventure Mini Golf and RV Park.

The child was on her tummy and could barely be seen. She left the roadway in front of a vehicle that was going extremely slow at the time according to Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman. It was one of those things that unfortunately just happened. Charges are not going to be laid against the driver.

Bystanders in the area attempted to help. The first person on the scene immediately was a doctor who quickly started CPR. An air ambulance was immediately dispatched.

Sadly, the girl died about an hour after the incident before the air ambulance could be boarded.
