Residents in Ottawa are urged by the Ottawa Public Health to follow basic principles to limit COVID-19 spread. The associate medical officer of health warns that COVID is still in the community and it is vital to follow the “basic principles” to limit the spread of the virus.
This was the first weekend of Stage 2 of the COVID-19 reopening with restaurant and bar patios opening for customers along with salons, barbershops, malls, and tattoo studios.
In some settings, whether you are shopping for groceries or in public transit where it is difficult to maintain distancing. Due to this, it is vital to wear a mask. The more people that are wearing face masks, the more that we are collectively protected.
The Ottawa Public Health encourages people to be “COVID wise” as more businesses reopen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
W – Wear a cloth mask if you cannot observe a physical distance of two meters.
I – Isolate yourself from others when you are sick
S – Stay two meters away from those outside your household
E – Exercise proper hand hygiene. Wash hands regularly or use a sanitizer before touching your face
