Injured hiker who was saved given first aid

A 56-year old man who was injured on the North Shore Mountains given first aid. The man has been carried to safety on a helicopter long line.

Injured during a hike

The hiker got separated from his group, fell and injured his ankle around 3PM. The North Shore Rescue stated that he was at an elevation of around 700 meters on the Coliseum Mountain Trail in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park.

The ground and helicopter crews were dispatched to the area and managed to get him off the mountain shortly. North Shore Rescue stated that its fortunate the operation did not require supplies from its nearest emergency cache which was one of two recently ransacked by thieves.
