Good Samaritan performed CPR on hit-and-run victim

A Good Samaritan performed CPR on a hit-and-victim. Sadly, the victim died on the Fraser Highway. The Good Samaritan is calling out on the driver to come forward.

Tragedy on the highway

The male pedestrian was hit near 168th Street shortly before 1 AM by an eastbound vehicle which then fled the scene.

Tim Szabo and his cousin were driving on the highway when they saw him lying on the road. They stopped their car immediately and rushed into traffic to help. A 911 operator instructed Szabo to check his breathing and perform CPR but it was not enough. The unidentified man died on the highway.

Surrey RCMP are still trying to piece together what happened. They do not have a suspect vehicle description but it might have damaged headlights. They believe the victim was on a bus shortly before the accident, and that there was an altercation on board.

The prompt delivery of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can save a life. During emergencies, it is vital to act right away with the appropriate first aid techniques to improve the outcome.
