A 30-year old woman from Vancouver succumbed to her injuries after the incident. The woman was declared dead after a kayaking incident on the Vedder River in Chilliwack.
Unforeseen ordeal in the water
Based on the report by Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Mike Rail, the police were present at the scene in Yarrow after they received a report of an overturned kayak on the river amidst Lickman Road and the Keith Wilson Bridge.
The first responders also attended and found the woman in the water. The woman was given first aid measures at the scene but succumbed to her injuries.
The B.C. Coroners Service is now handling the case and is in the initial phase of the investigation.
