First aid given to victim of kayaking accident

A 30-year old woman from Vancouver succumbed to her injuries after the incident. The woman was declared dead after a kayaking incident on the Vedder River in Chilliwack.

Unforeseen ordeal in the water

Based on the report by Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Mike Rail, the police were present at the scene in Yarrow after they received a report of an overturned kayak on the river amidst Lickman Road and the Keith Wilson Bridge.

The B.C. Coroners Service is now handling the case and is in the initial phase of the investigation.
