CPR saved both lives of husband and wife

A couple were able to save one another with prompt delivery of CPR. The couple were presented with the Vital Link Awards for using CPR.

Diana Stephen perform chest compressions during the life-changing event that saved the life of her husband back in 2015. Diana vaguely recalled how to perform CPR but she followed the instructions from a 911 dispatcher as she knelt by her husband.

For every minute that passes without CPR, there is a 10% drop in the chances of survival.

Her husband, Barrie also save Diana 4 years earlier. The scenario back then was the same but Barrier used his Canadian military training to guide him through the CPR procedure.

When to perform CPR

The immediate delivery of CPR by bystanders and paramedics on an individual suffering from cardiac arrest is both crucial and life-saving. It can make a big difference for someone to perform CPR while waiting for the paramedics.

For every minute that passes without CPR, there is a 10% drop in the chances of survival. The earlier CPR is performed, it significantly increases the chances of a better outcome.
