CPR performed on freak horse accident in Ladner

A mother and daughter who were thrown from their horses given CPR. A woman died after a horseback riding incident in Ladner. She was identified as 43-year old Roseanne Guerin of Ladner.

Horseback riding ordeal

Guerin and her 18-year old daughter were riding horses in the 3,600-block of 34th Street when the mother’s horse was spooked by a dog and started galloping away, throwing Guerin from the horse.

The daughter’s horse followed the first one and while attempting to jump a ditch, the teenager was thrown off. Witnesses quickly started CPR on Guerin until the rescue workers arrived to transport her via air ambulance to Vancouver General Hospital. Sadly, she later succumbed to head injuries.

The teenager was transported to Delta Hospital where she was given treatment for scrapes to her face and bruises on her left leg. A farm tractor rescued one of the horses that crashed through a fence and ended up stuck in a ditch.
