An Abbotsford man died while working on his vehicle when it fell on top of him despite CPR. According to Assistant Fire Chief Dave Rivett, the fire, police and ambulance crews responded to a report of a man who was trapped under his vehicle.
Prompt intervention
The call came from the wife of the man who had been out and arrived home to find her husband pinned under the vehicle.
The crews who responded to the scene had to utilize the Jaws of Life to raise the vehicle off the man. The incident occurred on a property on Downes Road between Mt. Lehman and Ross roads.
An air ambulance was called with a landing zone set up in the field at Mennonite Educational Institute on Downes Road. The man was transported by ambulance to the field and the crews performed CPR as the helicopter arrived, but the air ambulance did not transport him. According to Abbotsford Police Const.
