On June 15, passengers on the ferries must always have a face mask available that covers both the mouth and nose. Passengers will be asked to wear the masks in scenarios in which physical distancing of two meters cannot be observed.

The recent update will cover sailings that are longer than 30 minutes and must be observed by all passengers above two years old, including those traveling in a vehicle.

  • Must fit securely with either ties or ear loops
  • Should be made out of at least two layers of tightly-woven material fabric (cotton or linen)
  • Large enough to cover the nose and mouth completely without any gaps

BC Ferries is also closely monitoring its customers for COVID-19 symptoms via its screening process before passengers are allowed on board.
