According to the Mounties, a house fire put three people in a hospital including two young children. The cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious.
The two-alarm fire broke out in the basement suite of a house on 144B Street at around 10:30 AM. It triggered a massive emergency response in the neighborhood involving eight ambulances.
The witnesses watched as firefighters and paramedics performed first aid on the victims, including young children they described as a baby and a toddler. The firemen also performed CPR on the victims.
It was confirmed by the Surrey RCMP that both of the children remain in critical condition. They are receiving treatment at the hospital and investigators are monitoring their condition. The third victim, an adult, has already been released from the hospital.
