A BC firefighter who was hit by a pickup truck was given CPR. The firefighters in Delta are mourning the loss of a veteran teammate who was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Langley.
Unforeseen tragedy
Mark Janson, 54-years old was walking his dog along 240th Street near 56th Avenue, an area close to his home when he was hit by a truck. The investigators stated that the 24-year old driver of the truck delivered CPR with other witnesses before Janson was rushed to a healthcare facility. Sadly, he later died from his injuries.
Langley RCMP stated that the driver of the truck who was extremely distraught after the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. In a release, police stated that there are no streetlights in the area of the crash and both speed and alcohol are not contributing factors. The truck was seized and a mechanical inspection was scheduled.

The prompt delivery of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is vital during emergencies. It is a life-saving technique that significantly improves the chances of survival. A delay in the delivery of this technique reduces the chances of survival during emergencies.
