Frequently Asked Questions About Re-Certifications
A re-certification is a renewal of your existing first aid, CPR, or BLS certification while it is still valid. It allows you to refresh skills and extend your certificate’s validity without retaking the full original course.
We offer recertification for:
- Standard First Aid & CPR
- Emergency First Aid & CPR
- CPR Level A / Level C
- BLS / CPR HCP
Check your certificate’s expiry date — if it’s still valid, you’re eligible for renewal.
- Standard First Aid / CPR Recertification: about 1 day (depending on provider)
- CPR Recertification (Level A or C): approximately 4 hours
- BLS Recertification: about 4 hours
These times may vary with class size and course format.
Re-certification typically focuses on skills refreshers, hands-on practice, scenario training, and a skills evaluation — not full theory content. You’ll refresh critical procedures, practice on manikins, and demonstrate competency in CPR, AED use, and first aid (if applicable).
Yes — your existing certificate must still be valid (not expired) to be eligible.
If your certification has expired, you will probably need to take the full original course again.

We also offer discounts for group recertification, corporate clients, or on-site sessions.
Once renewed:
- First Aid / CPR certifications are valid for 3 years
- BLS / CPR HCP certifications remain valid for 1 year
You’ll need to renew again before the new expiry date.
